Paper Boats

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

All this rain going on in Seattle (no surprise there) is bringing back some childhood memories. As a kid, my friends and I would make paper boats. Then, we would float them on mud puddles. Mud puddles are hard to come by in the city. But concrete puddles works, too.

What fun activities did you do as kid when it rained?

Dinosaur Fights

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

I was having a frightening adventure…

in a land before time until Hamburger came to the rescue.

He fought a lot of dinosaurs and won!

Thankfully, I am safely back at home on my way to Sleepy Land.

Good night and sweet dreams.

Triple Olympics Weekend

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

This past weekend, the wind took me to…

Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada.

Tammy and I visited Dave, Tammy’s long lost pal.

Turns out we picked the perfect time to go, as it was the Olympics Opening weekend, Chinese New Year, and Valentine’s weekend!

Downtown streets were blocked off, to make room for…

a giant party and Olympic chants. It was such a fantastic weekend to hang out with Tammy, Dave and the city of Vancouver!

Now, I have to nurse this fever. Anyone else caught the Olympic Fever? I hear the cure is not available until the end of the month. ;)

This Thing Called Love

Friday, February 12th, 2010

I recently got to thinking about l-o-v-e. If you don’t mind, here are some of my “picthoughts” on the subject.

Love is all around. It can encompass a city.

Yet, sometimes you have to pay attention to notice its subtle ways.

While some make it,

Tilt you head sideways

others already have it.

Love isn’t always smooth sailing. But I  think most of the time love is simple.

I was told when in doubt…

Kiss a frog!

An early, Happy Valentine’s Day to you! I hope you get all the love you can handle!

Garden Gnome Visits Seattle

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

Yesterday, my new friend Garden Gnome led the way to a nice walkabout in the city.

Gotta stop for a photo op!

Can you believe they keep books there? Neither can I.

Lusty Lady

We ended up at the doorstep of a show that I did not want to see! Gotta keep walking!

Oh what a pretty view of the city!

Goodbye sun, maybe we’ll see you tomorrow…

Goodbye Garden Gnome, until next time.

Kiss a Rose

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

What happens when two hugs,

two kisses,

and a cherry on top come together?…

"On top"

You get roses full of kisses!

I’ve made a tradition giving this to friends on Valentine’s Day. Now, I share it with you!

PS1. I learned how to make these in high school in the Horticulture Club :) Er many…years ago. It’s  simple enough that you might make it using just the below image. Perhaps for your Valentine?

PS2. Just in case and thanks to this thing called the internet, this great and easy how-to guide from Hershey’s is available!

PS3. Advanced Happy Valentine’s Day/Singles Awareness Day!

Watercoloring

Monday, February 1st, 2010

With food coloring as the paint, my car as the canvas, and the rain as the brush…

I watched the rain paint…itself.

Colors can fadeI dropped some color on the roof of my car…

Rainstained sunroofAnd got a pretty stained glass effect.

…the rain paint itself.
