10 Ways To Be A Kid Again

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

Get away from your daily stress and responsibilities and be a kid again. Who says you have to be a grown up all the time? Go ahead, be silly!

  1. Blow bubbles in your drink, using your straw
  2. Yell, “Whee!” when the car drives off
  3. Play games you use to play as a child (e.g. jacks, hide-and-seek, tag, heads up seven up, patty cake etc.)
  4. Collect bugs or whatever random stuff you used to collect as a kid
  5. Play with your food
  6. Look up at the sky and assign shapes to the clouds
  7. Skip stones
  8. Watch shows that you use to watch as a kid (I’m hesitant to admit but I used to watch Sailor Moon.)
  9. Stick your tongue out at another kid
  10. Skip, frolic, and merrily act uninhibited

Softball Fall 2009: Hustle & Throw

Thursday, September 24th, 2009
What a funtastic season?! It was important that we got each others’ backs!
We had 2-4 record and made it to round 2 of playoffs, not bad at all. We had bats that would set on fire and gloves like magnets.
I won’t forget to mention the cheering squad. Kudos to them, best of the best!

I’ve put together this set of back-shots for the entire team. Cheers to a great team!

Toy Soldiers

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

September 11, 2009: for me was a day to catch up on errands, do my best to enjoy the day, and remember those who are no longer with us. In addition to honoring those who have or are out there fighting for freedoms we sometimes forget we have.

I decided to stick purple hearts on toy soldiers and leave them all over Seattle. Here are a few…

It was great to observe people. There were some who took pictures and some who just looked at them. I hope it affected them in a positive way.

Finger Puppets

Monday, September 7th, 2009

My friend Tammy and I wandered around Pike Place Market the other day and found a small toy store called The Great Wind-Up. I didn’t buy a wind-up toy but instead bought a finger puppet for a mere $0.75. Ever since, my newly adopted pet has been giving me pure fun and entertainment.

I call him “Hamburger.” This is him at the Gum Wall in Post Alley.

I soon discovered that he likes to scare people…

..and eat them. I won’t show you the after picture. It’s way gruesome ;)

I figured he was hungry, but all he wants is sugar at the Chinese restaurant. He wasn’t interested in having congee for dinner.

This is it for now. I’m sure Hamburger has more adventures to come!

Having an Effect Part 2

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

The fortune cookie came true! The one that I left for the janitorial lady at my work, see my post on Having an Effect (part 1). It said: “You will be rewarded for your efforts within the month.” On the 31st of August, I decided to leave her a thank you note, sidewalk chalk for her daughter, and a pretty picture of a rose. I know it’s not much of a reward but it’s a little something.
Have any random acts of kindness ideas? Please share.
